Dr. Tracey Thomas
Dr. Tracey Thomas is the managing veterinarian at the hospital. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1995 after spending 10 years either schooling or working there. Since graduating she has practiced in 3 other twin cities locations over the past 14 years, spending most of that time in Brooklyn Park, MN. She enjoys all aspects of patient care and surgery.
Dr. Thomas grew up in southeast MN, living there until moving up to the twin cities to attend college. She is married and has 2 boys, Taylor and Tyler. Her house is also full with 4 cats (Modelo, Zipper, Midori, and Riesling) living quite comfortably. Special interests outside of work include activities with her sons, classes in cardio-kickboxing, broomball and boating.
Dr. Kelly Pawlenty
Dr. Kelly Pawlenty graduated from the University of Minnesota Veterinary School in 2004. Her special interests in this field include dentistry and surgery. Dr. Kelly has been with St. Francis Veterinary Clinic since early 2005.
Her hometown is in southwest Minnesota and currently lives in the Chisago Lakes area. She is married to Geoff, and has two boys, Hayden and Carter. Her pets include 2 cats (Bacardi and Spice). She enjoys spending time with family and friends and scrapbooking.
Dr. Jill Hergenrader
Dr. Jill graduated from Iowa State University Veterinary College in 1994. Her primary interest is in small animal medicine and surgery. Jill joined our hospital in 2004 to help Dr. Chris, her husband. He has since retired from the practice to pursue his interest in teaching and coaching at the high school level.
She has four children, Emily (10), Derek (8), Olesya (7), and Katie (1). Other than a busy homelife, Jill likes scrapbooking and sewing.
Dr. Steve Kivisto
Dr. Steve is a 1997 graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated the top of the middle of the class...so he says. He has worked at various small animal/exotic clinics from 1997 to 2003. He also taught classes at the veterinary technology school from 2003 to 2006. Dr. Steve has been with our hospital since August of 2006.
Steve and his wife Heather (who is also a veterinarian) have two children, Gracie and Gavin. His cat is getting up there in years but is still going strong at 16 years (Ernie). His dog Bella (aka "The Bean") is a shih-tzu who is very spoiled. Steve enjoys reading, playing hockey, playing guitar, and picking on his kids.
